Contract position: IMMEDIATE NEED!!!!.......Client is looking for a Construction Project Manager to help manage multiple electric Utility Transmission Line and Substation EPC projects in and around Akron, OH. Client is looking for a minimum of 10+ years of overall engineering & construction experience and 3-5 years of experience as a Project Manager or Construction Manager involved in heavy industrial construction projects ranging from $5 million to $100 million. Our client prefers local candidates at this time. * pay commensurate with experience level *

Responsibilities for the Project Manager

  • Directs and/or coordinates activities of several disciplines (permitting, engineering, procurement, project controls, and construction) on medium/large substation or transmission line projects

  • Direct coordination with clients, client representatives, A/E representatives, subcontractors, etc

  • Participate in project proposals or other project development activities

  • Responsible for the overall management of Transmission Line or Substation EPC projects, including but not limited to, safety, quality, budget, and schedule

  • Responsible for coordinating project planning, establishment of critical project objectives, quality control, budgeting and scheduling with the client

  • Travel to field site locations in and around Akron, OH 25% of the time

Requirements for the Project Manager

  • 10+ years of engineering & construction experience related to some sort of heavy industrial EPC project....ideally power generation, substation or T&D projects

  • 3-5+ years of experience as a Project Manager or Construction Manager supporting some type of EPC project, ideally Substation or Transmission Line EPC projects

  • You need to have experience as a true Project Manager involved in the entire life cycle of an EPC project from permitting, subcontract negotiations, scope, schedule, budget, safety, quality, etc...

  • Must have ability to deal effectively with a wide variety of industry, government and public contracts on project-related matters

  • Must have strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Ideal candidate has a BS degree in Engineering

  • Candidates with a PMP certificaiton are preferred
